TopCoding never stores code or data from GitHub on its servers. TopCoding only ever has read permissions to repositories which were selected by the used during the GitHub OAuth process.
TopCoding requires a GitHub authentication to establish a connection to your GitHub repositories, fetches the selected code files and presents them in the TopCoding app. TopCoding always fetches the code files from GitHub on demand when you open a document if you have a valid GitHub OAuth connection.
TopCoding cannot modify code as it only requires and uses read permissions to the GitHub repositories.
TopCoding does not store the GitHub authentication token. Therefore, you might be required to reauthenticate again when the token expires. The token is securely stored in the client-side browser's local storage, ensuring that only the TopCoding app can access it.
All code documentation by default is private to the user who created it. The user can later grant access to code documentation to other users to see and edit the documentation. The user can make the code documentation private and revoke the access to all users at any point and time. To do so, the user can change the document folder location back to Private.
TopCoding only stores medata on its servers such as document title, folder name and text from the document. All the data is encrypted and securely stored. TopCoding never stores code, code snippets or any GitHub related data on its servers.
TopCoding encrypts all the medatadata during transmission and stores the encrypted data securely on its servers. This does not enclude code content because TopCoding does not store any code on its servers.
